Sleeping / naps and quiet time

The house is well prepared for baby and toddler naptimes. We have daybeds (with bedding available, or do feel free to provide your own if you wish). (A special cot with extra mattress for the very young.) Plus all beds have ‘topping bedding’ for children and there are quillows (our own very special variety of mini duvet with foot warming pocket) on the sofas and lots cushion and cosy throws throughout, so your child can rest and sleep in comfort, as suits them. (A child can also sleep in their stroller (if suitable) of course if they/you prefer.)

Eating

We often eat sitting at the dining table, we have range chairs and cushions for all sizes and preferences. Also for variety (and fun!) we lay out carpet picnics* (anywhere downstairs) and tea parties in the lounge. (Plus outdoors picnics, depending on weather/season.)

Food and drink

We provide yummy organic food wherever possible (in some cases home grown), all our meals and food are home prepared/cooked, unless there is something particular or special required - in all cases the food we provide will be free from anything artificial.

Purchased snacks such as crisps are organic and mostly from the ‘Organix’ range

Seasonal sample ‘menus’

All ingredients are organic unless otherwise stated.

Breakfast:
Porridge oats (can be made with rice, soya or any kind of milk), served with chopped banana and raisins (sometimes cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla)
Cereal, (i.e. Peter Rabbit cornflakes, mini Shredded Wheat etc)
Pancakes* (plain or almond) with butter variety toppings
Toast* (variety breads i.e. Rye bread), with spreads and/or homemade jam

Mid morning snacks:
Chopped or whole fruit, e,g. Bananas, apple, oranges, kiwi fruit, pineapple, melon
Raisins, Goji berries
Dried fruit, e.g. prunes, dates, figs

Lunch:**
Beetroot soup with feta (or Sheese)
Dhal lentil and split pea, with brown rice
Pizza, homemade (with fresh assorted toppings)
Pasta with ragu sauce and grated cheese
Sausage and mash, with onion gravy and selection of veg
Selection accompanying vegetables always on offer i.e. broccoli, courgettes, carrots, peppers, or salad

Mid afternoon snacks:
Homemade muffins
Cubecumber/tomato sandwiches
Homemade humous and oatbiscuits/ricecakes
Crudités with dips (i.e. Tatziki)

Dinner:**
Steamed salmon, with carrot fingers and buttered broccoli
Soya bean and lentil bake, with vegetable medley (i.e. courgette and peppers)
Vegetable stew or Hot pot with Quinoa
Fishfingers and chips, with peas and assorted vegetables
Shepherd/Shepherdess pie with salad

Supper:
Warm foamy milk/Babychino with chocolate sprinkles
Organics biscuits

  **lunch and dinner samples are interchangeable

Typical Drinks:
Bottled still water, filtered water (always accessible/available throughout day)
Range of juices, apple, apple/cranberry, orange (diluted)
Milks (including almond, rice, soya)
Herbal teas
(Sparkling water also available)
Appletize (for older children)

NB Menu and ingredients are of course adapted to suit dietary requirement
